Joe Biden has raised more than $72 million since announcing his re-election bid, surpassing the amount raised by Donald Trump and other White House contenders.
Mr. Biden's campaign also reported $77 million in cash cash at the end of the second quarter, which his team said was «the highest amount accumulated by a Democrat in any comparable period in history.»
The numbers come first. his campaign came to light after the U.S. president confirmed in April that he was running for a second term.
The $72 million figure is the total amount raised by Mr. Biden, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and their joint fundraising committees between April 25 and the end of June.
«The Biden-Harris team vastly outperformed the announced total votes of every GOP candidate running for president, including Donald Trump, by more than 2:1 and Ron DeSantis by more than 3:1,» the Biden campaign said.

Trump, leader of the 2024 Republican primary, earned more than $35 million in the second quarter.
However, the discrepancy is at least partly due to Biden's fundraising advantages, such as rules that allow donors to give more to the DNC than they can give to individual candidates.
GOP candidates who face hard-fought primaries are not raising money jointly with the Republican National Committee (RNC).

Mr. Biden's campaign has yet to release the total amount raised directly by his campaign, which would allow for a more direct comparison with Mr. Trump and other Republican candidates.
Not a good comparison
But the numbers released by his Friday campaign are not up to par with what other recent presidents have put together at this point in their re-election efforts.
By comparison, in 2019 Mr. Trump and the NRC raised a total of $105 million in the second quarter—about $80,000 a day more than Mr. Biden received this year.
In 2011, Barack Obama and The DNC raised $85.6 million during the April-June quarter, although Mr. Obama announced his bid for re-election three weeks later. earlier in April of the same year than Biden this year.
While some Democrats are less than enthusiastic about recent fundraising efforts, the Biden campaign insists there is reason to be optimistic ahead of next year's election .
>According to Biden campaign manager Julia Chavez Rodriguez, 97% of all donations were less than $200, and 30% of donors were newcomers after the 2020 campaign.
