Three-door hatchback on the way: the interior of the new Mini Cooper has been declassified

The interior of the three-door was decorated in a «retro-futuristic» style, which was inspired by the design of the original car in 1959.

The British brand Mini belongs to Ba Varna company BMW. Now the manufacturer is developing a new three-door hatchback Mini Cooper. It is known that the model will have several options for “stuffing” — gasoline and completely “green”, while the second version has an addition Electric to the name. In the spring of last year, official pictures of the camouflaged three-door prototypes were published, but now the appearance is no longer a secret.

The new Mini Cooper received several visual changes from the current version, including slightly modified LED head optics, as well as new trapezoidal taillights with illuminated drawing in the form of a pair of triangles: it still resembles a stylized British flag.

In Mini, the interior of the new Cooper was declassified: it was decided to decorate it in a family “retro-futuristic” style. When creating, the developers were inspired by the interior design of the original car in 1959, created by Alec Issigonis. It is worth noting that we have already seen a similar design on the Mini Aceman concept, which will soon become a production model, but for now it is undergoing a series of road tests.

In the interior of the new Mini Cooper Electric, the centerpiece is a large round touchscreen infotainment system. Recall that the classic Mini had a round speedometer in this place (albeit smaller). The multimedia screen has received new graphics and interface. Device data is also displayed here, for example, the current speed.Under the round display is a block of controls for vehicle functions. The gear selector is also located here. Like the Aceman show car, the front fascia of the new Cooper is trimmed in fabric. She received a very modest amount of decorative elements, but boasts an integrated diffused backlight. The interior trim of the doors is also very minimalist. The interior was also equipped with a new steering wheel with physical buttons.

The electric Mini Cooper will have several «soundtracks», we are talking about the individual sounds that cars with internal combustion engines have. The company believes that they will help the driver, passengers and other road users to form an «acoustic perception». hp and a traction battery with a capacity of 40.7 kWh. Also, the model will have a 215-horsepower electric motor, which works in conjunction with a more capacious battery — 54.2 kWh. According to preliminary data, the maximum range on a single charge will vary from 300 to 400 km (depending on the version).

The release of the new Mini Cooper will be launched at enterprises in the UK and China (at the facilities of the BMW and Great Wall joint venture). The Cooper electric modification will be the first to go on sale: according to the plan, it will enter the market in May 2024, and in a couple of months the gasoline Cooper will also join the line.
