The presentation of the Japanese SUV will take place early next month. The novelty is the closest relative of the current Lexus GX, which was introduced in June.
Toyota published the first full-fledged teasers of its new SUV at the beginning of this month, and then the Japanese manufacturer did not disclose the name of the novelty that was being prepared for the presentation, although it was clear that this was the next generation Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. It is worth noting that in many European countries this model does not have the Prado gain; without it, the model will be sold in the States. By the way, earlier in the USA, under the name Land Cruiser, they sold an SUV with an index of 200 (and the current “three hundredth” did not reach this market).
Judging by previous teasers, the profile of the new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is in many ways similar to the silhouette of the third-generation Lexus GX SUV that debuted in June. It is expected that the new Toyota will retain the frame structure of the body, and it will be based on the GA-F platform (the related Lexus is also based on it).
It is assumed that during the generation change the new Prado will grow up: for example, the length of the third generation Lexus GX is 4950 mm, and the distance between the axles is 2850 mm. For comparison, the overall length of the current LC Prado is 4840/4857 mm (in the specification for Russia), and the wheelbase is 2790 mm.

Today, the Japanese company has published the announcement of the presentation of the next generation Toyota Land Cruiser Prado: the novelty will debut on August 2. The company also distributed new teasers of the future Prado. The exterior of the SUV is partially visible on them – we are talking about the rear light, as well as the front part, which so far can only be seen in profile.

In the picture, the novelty is captured next to the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62: thus, the company decided to announce that the model developers were inspired by the retro design of the classic SUV (it was produced in the late 1980s). As a result, the new LC Prado will receive a “square” silhouette, a rectangular grille with the brand's name on it, headlight units of the same shape and a large air intake integrated into the lower part of the front bumper. At the stern you can see a large vertical lantern, consisting of several polygonal elements.
According to preliminary data, in the States, the new Toyota SUV may share equipment with the current Lexus GX. Recall that the model received a 3.4-liter gasoline bi-turbo six, the return of which is 354 hp, and the maximum torque is 650 Nm. This motor is paired with a ten-speed automatic. Another announced version of the “stuffing” is a hybrid installation, which includes a 2.4-liter gasoline turbo four, an electric motor and an 8AKP. It is possible that in some markets the model will still have a diesel engine in the range.
