The new SUV from the Bavarian brand is expected to hit the European market in spring 2024.
Small the BMW X2 crossover was introduced in the fall of 2017, it was based on the concept of the same name, which was declassified a year earlier as part of the Paris Motor Show. Now the Bavarian company is developing a second-generation crossover. It is known that the new SUV will also have a fully electric version, which will receive its own name — iX2.

The Bavarians have not yet officially declassified the appearance of the next generation BMW X2 (designer Kolesa.ru recently presented your version of the exterior of the novelty). Now the prototype continues a series of summer tests that are being carried out on public roads in southern Europe. Colleagues from the Spanish publication Motor.es shared with us a fresh batch of pictures.
The prototype caught in the spy lenses is very carefully hidden with the help of masking, although a number of exterior features can still be seen. The compact crossover with a coupe-shaped body received a proprietary radiator grille in the form of relatively small “nostrils” with a pattern consisting of triangular elements. The same pattern was given to a large air intake integrated into the lower part of the front bumper.
The new BMW X2 also received traditional exterior mirrors with turn signal repeaters, a “single-story” head optics, recessed door handles, a shark antenna fin «on the roof, a small spoiler on the edge of the tailgate, a laconic body kit around the perimeter of the body, retroreflectors in the front wheel arches, as well as horizontally located lights (they are on the rear fenders, but go to the fifth door).
It is known that the front of the new X2 will largely intersect with the BMW X1 compact crossover (and the «electric train» – with iX1). Recall that both versions of «X first» debuted in early summer last year. It is expected that a large curved display will be installed on the front panel in the cabin, combining a virtual tidy and a multimedia touchscreen, in addition, sports seats will be offered. jpg» />
The production of all modifications of the novelty will be established at the facilities of the plant in Regensburg (Germany), here the Bavarians produce the BMW X1 and iX1. According to preliminary data, SUVs will also share the engine range. Recall that a 1.5-liter petrol turbo (136 hp and 230 Nm) is offered as a base. There is also a 2.0-liter turbo engine (204 hp and 320 Nm) in the lineup, working in tandem with a 48-volt “electronic weight”; total return — 218 hp and 360 Nm.
The diesel range is opened by a 2.0-liter engine (150 hp and 360 Nm). There is also a mild hybrid system based on a 2.0-liter 197-horsepower engine, with a total power of 211 hp. and 400 Nm. In addition, there are a couple of rechargeable hybrids in the range. The first option is based on a 1.5-liter engine, working in conjunction with a 109-horsepower electric motor (total power — 245 hp and 477 Nm). The second was based on a 150-horsepower 1.5-liter engine with a 177-horsepower electric motor (together they give out 326 hp and 477 Nm).
In turn, the all-electric BMW iX2 crossover can receive a twin-engine installation (one electric motor on each axle), the total power of which will be 313 hp. (494 Nm).
It is expected that the new SUV of the Bavarian brand will be on sale in the European market in the spring of 2024, and it will reach the States closer to 2025.
