About 20 other fake royals were in attendance, including those from France, Italy and Canada.

A mix of pomp and playfulness
The coronation of the first prince of the kingdom this year, which took place more than 230 years after the French Revolution, was organized to commemorate the group's 10th «anniversary» anniversary.

The prince walked down the church aisle to the solemn melodies of César Franck's «Panis Angelicus», dressed in a ceremonial cloak made by local craftsmen.

His brass crown, ceramic ball and wooden scepter, decorated with bunches of grapes in homage to the local heritage of winemaking, were also made by local craftsmen.

In addition to its own flag, currency and passports, the micronation is ruled by Prince Michael, who succeeded his father in 1999 .
