Wrexham ended their 15-year ban from the Football League in predictable Hollywood style at the racetrack on Saturday, with co-owner Ryan Reynolds admitting he suffered from «first day of school» nerves prior to their defeat at home by Milton with a score of 5: 3. Keynes Dons.
His friend Hugh Jackman was the latest movie star to attend the game at Wrexham, along with Reynolds and his business partner Rob McElhenney.
The Oscar nominee is currently filming the last film. in the Deadpool film series with Reynolds and was on hand when Wrexham returned to the EFL after 5572 days away.
“First of all, I would use one word – “emotional,” Reynolds said. «There's been a lot of blood spilled on this field over the last couple of years that Rob and I have been involved with the club, and it always takes my breath away when you step onto the racetrack.

“This is a church. So, to be here, I have a little «first day of school» vibes, that kind of nervous energy that I'm absorbed in, but very excited about. I can't wait to start.»
Wrexham said goodbye to the EFL in May 2008, relegated despite a 4-2 win over Lincoln on the final day of the season.
And their return was the latest chapter in the Welsh club's ascent to the world fame following their purchase in November 2020.
The second series of the award-winning series Welcome to Wrexham is due to air mid-next month, with filming beginning on the third series to celebrate the club's return to the EFL. .
A win over Borham Wood in the last home game of last season secured the promotion, and McElhenney admitted he was much more relaxed three months later. since that day.
“We understand that this is a personal experience for the fans as well as for us,” McElhenney said. “The last time we were here, we were overwhelmed by such anxiety and the possibility of disaster, but we also knew that we had a chance to win this league.
“So it was three hours of hell before we won. A new chapter starts today and we can just have some fun.»
McElhenney tweeted before the match started:

The capacity of the racetrack is due to be increased by 5,500 when the New Kop opens at the start of next season, although construction has yet to begin behind one of the gates.
Wrexham has been left without new signings from Ireland veteran James McClean, who signed on Friday, and iconic striker Paul Mullin, still recovering in the United States from a broken rib and punctured lung he suffered during a pre-season clash with Manchester United '.
