The British luxury brand's new product will be unveiled at next week's Monterey Car Week.
The Aston Martin DB11 sports car has been produced since 2016, this model has replaced the version with the DB9 index. And at the end of last spring, the successor to the current model, the Aston Martin DB12, was presented. Recall that the creation of this sports car was timed to coincide with the celebration of the 110th anniversary of the brand. Now the British automaker is preparing to present another novelty, it is expected that its role will be played by the open-top version — Aston Martin DB12 Volante.

The company has not yet talked about what kind of new product is being prepared for the presentation, but reported that the debut will take place next week as part of the Monterey Car Week exhibition. This is believed to be a DB12 Volante convertible, as photo spies have previously caught a prototype model, apparently production-ready, at the Nürburgring in Germany.
The convertible is expected to have minimal differences from the DB12 coupe. Probably the most noticeable (and obvious) difference will be the black fabric folding roof, which was most likely carried over from its predecessor, the DB11 Volante, without significant changes. The design of the front end is likely to be the same, which means that the DB12 Volante will receive an upgraded head optics of a different shape and with a different light pattern, a modified sculpted hood and a revised branding.

The main changes for the DB12 Volante convertible will probably be inside as well as for the coupe. Recall that the sports car presented in May was equipped with a new steering wheel and a modern virtual tidy with a diagonal of 10.25 inches. The two-door also received a new infotainment system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen. The sports car also has a “floating” center console in the cabin, new ventilation deflectors and a minimalistic gear selector. Standard equipment includes acoustics with 11 speakers, an optional Bowers & Wilkins with 15 speakers.

The cabriolet will also obviously share the technique with the coupe. The Aston Martin DB12 is equipped with a 4.0-liter AMG V8 biturbo engine, its output is 680 hp and maximum torque is 800 Nm. It is worth noting that these figures are 145 hp. and 125 Nm more than its predecessor, and they also exceed the characteristics of the DB11 with a V12 engine (it produced 639 hp and 700 Nm). The engine is mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.
Recall that the Aston Martin DB12 coupe takes 3.6 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100. By the way, this result is 0.4 seconds less than the DB11 with V8 and 0.1 second less than its predecessor with V12. In turn, the maximum speed of the novelty is 325 km/h: 16 km/h more than the DB11 version with a V8, but 9 km/h less than the retired V12 version. The convertible will probably weigh more due to a different design, so the dynamic performance may differ. />In the photo: the interior of the current convertible Aston Martin DB11 Volante
Aston Martin has other projects. So, recently it became known about the preparation of a limited edition of the Valor sports car with a 715-horsepower V12 biturbo engine and a 6-speed manual transmission that transfers all power to the rear wheels through a self-locking differential.
