Zach Crowley wants to play all three formats for England. in an Indian Premier League auction to bolster his reputation as an England international after a superb test summer.
Crowley's England teammates Ben Stokes, Sam Curran and Harry Brook earned over £1.3m at the latest IPL auction.
Crowley, who has amassed 480 runs on a 53.33 average with the Ashes, has set his sights on England's December West Indies Whiteball tour as he hopes to become a three-format international. The series follows the ODI World Cup in India and England is likely using it to give some minor players an opportunity.
«If they want me on this tour, I'd really like to go,» Crowley told Telegraph Sport. “We will see how the selection goes, but the Caribbean is a great place to play. And I haven't had the opportunity to go on the white ball tour for England yet, so any opportunity I get would be amazing.»
Only three of Crowley's white ball games for England were ODIs against Pakistan . in 2021 when he was part of a new team selected after the Covid-19 outbreak. He scored 97 runs at a 48.5 average, finishing third in the series, which suggests his talents are well suited to white ball play.
“I really enjoyed playing them and I felt like I was playing well without getting big points. So it would be nice to try again,” Crowley said.

The recent departure of Alex Hales from international cricket has also created a potential new spot as a rookie in the T20, although competition from Phil Salt and Will Jax among the young batsmen who figure prominently in England's plans is fierce.
“Obviously there are a few guys ahead of me at the moment, but if I win a few runs, then hopefully my name will start showing up in the hat,” said Crowley, speaking at the launch of KP Snacks’ community cricket grounds initiative. «Only runs will solve this problem.»
Success in the franchise's overseas leagues would also help Crowley in his ambitions in England. He competed for the Hobart Hurricanes at the Big Bash in Australia earlier in the year and hopes to be back when they resume.
“I was at the Big Bash last year and I loved it, so if they wanted to for me to come back then, that would certainly be something I would think about,” he said, confirming his aspirations for the IPL.
“If one day I was good enough to play in the IPL and someone wanted me I would love to go.
“This is the biggest franchised tournament in the world. So this is the only place where you can see all the best playing against each other. So it's great cricket and the opportunity to test yourself in this tournament would be amazing.”
After the Ashes, Crowley only missed one game against London Spirit before launching his 100 campaign. This is the start of a long period of Crowley's white-ball cricket game, with England's next test match not until January in India. liked it, missed the Blast in the last few years and the 100, always had a test series,” he said. “I'm glad the schedule now allows for a full 100. That's why I really wanted to start playing white ball cricket. This looks like it will be the future of the game, so you don't want to be left behind.”
