The novelty will debut next week as a concept called QX Monography. The premiere will take place as part of Monterey Car Week.
The Japanese premium brand began producing its full-size SUV in 2004, then the model was sold under the name QX56. It was based on the F-Alpha platform, on which, among other things, the sister SUV Nissan Armada of the first generation was based. The SUV changed generation in 2010, and the name — in 2014 (during restyling), since then the model has been sold with a different index — QX80. Further, it was only updated, although the time to change the generation had long come. Infiniti is known to be developing the next generation QX80.

So far, the manufacturer is not ready to tease brand fans with teasers of the future serial news, instead, he preferred to stir up their interest with a picture of the QX Monography concept SUV, which, however, only partially shows the radiator grille with a large illuminated logo . Infiniti will show the «whole» show car a week later, on August 17, as part of the annual Monterey Car Week event. />
The company noted that the Infiniti QX Monography is intended to demonstrate the evolution of the brand's design language. Judging by the teaser, the show car will receive a radiator grill made of black glossy plastic with a pattern in the form of parallel lines diverging from the center, located at an angle. As we have already noted, in the center of the «grill» there is a recognizable company logo, which was provided with illumination.

The QX Monography Concept will be the harbinger of the third-generation QX80 production SUV. Recall that earlier this year, the prototype of the novelty has already come across in the lenses of photo spies, pictures of the disguised car were published on the Web. Based on those photos, the designer Kolesa.ru suggested how the appearance of the new Infiniti QX80 could change, we published these render images last spring.

Judging by them, the new generation model can be equipped with a larger radiator grille, as well as a new “two-story” head optics. Probably, LED running lights will be placed in the upper part, and the main headlight units will be integrated lower into the bumper. The model may also have differently designed air ducts in the front fenders, and the door handles will most likely become retractable. In addition, the side glazing will have hidden rear pillars, like the QX60. It is expected that the next QX80 will get a taillight style from the same model. there is no news about the interior of the novelty yet. It is assumed that the model can get a large horizontal 24-inch display that combines a 12-inch digital instrument cluster and the same size touchscreen infotainment system. Even in the cabin, a touch-sensitive air conditioning control unit and more space for passengers in the third row of seats are expected.
There is no data on the technology of the future novelty yet; presumably the next Infiniti QX80 will get a new V6 turbo engine. Recall that the current SUV, based on the same platform as the Nissan Patrol (Y62), is offered with a 5.6-liter gasoline naturally aspirated V8, its output is 405 hp, and the maximum torque is 560 Nm. It comes with a seven-speed automatic. Drive — rear or full.
