    Tom Brady stuns Birmingham fans with pre-match pub visit

    NFL legend Tom Brady stunned Birmingham City fans by entering the pre-match pub ahead of their 1-0 win over Leeds on Saturday.

    Five-time Super Bowl MVP Brady declared himself the latest American on the list of top English football investors earlier this month when he became part owner of the Championship club.

    Birmingham's new investor posted a photo from the plane before landing in Birmingham on Saturday and wrote: “Any plans before kick off.” Guys? See you in St. Andrews.”

    Brady then surprised supporters by showing up at The Roost pub near St. Andrews.

    < p>“Tom Brady is here and perfect,” tweeted Kelsey Ravenhill, 26, from Birmingham.

    She added: “The crew, Tom Brady, his bodyguards all entered the pub to see him go out in the Blues style. introduced himself to all our fans.

    “The place is amazing, the atmosphere has completely changed, he's just a sports legend.

    “It made everyone's day, it was nice to meet him and I just hope that later we can get him three points.

    Brady then signed autographs for fans at St. Andrews Stadium before kick-off. The 46-year-old retired in February after 23 seasons in the NFL.

    < p>Birmingham paid a touching tribute to their greatest player in history prior to kickoff, with Jasper Carrott leading the tribute to Francis after his death last month.

    The comedian said Francis was “a hero, a model for an imitation and a symbol of the time when there was real hope in this stadium.” back to St. Andrews.
