Hans Zimmer will use BBC Maida Vale Studios as a school for musicians after the site was sold in a deal reportedly worth £10.5m.

The BBC has confirmed that it has sold the historic studio. complex with the two-time Academy Award-winning composer and his business partner Stephen Kofsky, as well as Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, chief executives of film producer Working Title.
The partners have developed a multi-million dollar plan to redevelop a Grade II listed facility in west London. It will remain a studio and the building's original Edwardian façade will be preserved.
There will also be a new non-profit educational institution with a long-term commitment to providing local jobs and investment.
Mr Zimmer, who has composed scores for dozens of blockbusters including Gladiator, The Lion King and Pirates of the Caribbean, said he wanted to 'close the circle' after he first worked at Maida Vale over four decades ago. .
He said: “I still remember the strong attraction, the desire to touch the walls, as if it would somehow allow me to connect with the artists whose extraordinary music resonated daily with these walls.
“It was a place of revolutionary science in the service of art, a place that inspired you to give your best, where music was played around the clock and where art was taken seriously. For people by people. It was the place that kept a struggling musician like me from giving up.”
Mr. Zimmer added that he wanted to make Maida Vale «a place that inspires, teaches, technologically serves the arts and humanity, and gives the next generation the same opportunities that were given to me: to create and never give up.»

In 2018, the BBC announced plans to move its music studios to a purpose-built location in Stratford's new East Bank Creative Quarter in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
