Somewhere they will offer a really “hot” four-door, while our model will be available with a “strangled” turbo engine.
The Russian premiere of the “sported” Omoda S5 GT sedan (Omoda brand belongs to Chery) is scheduled for September 7 this year, the local office is only teasing the novelty so far. But in Mexico, such a model has already been completely declassified. By the way, in Latin America, the standard four-door is called O5, while the “hot” version there, respectively, bears the O5 GT index.

Recall that the usual Omoda sedan is a clone of the Chery Arrizo 5 Plus with a different emblem and nameplates (in China, the original Chery sedan was recently updated in the style of our “eski”), while the GT model is an analogue of the Chery Arrizo 5 GT, which debuted in its homeland last year.
Features of the appearance of the «athlete» — its own grille and headlights «under the Lexus», more aggressive bumpers, black 17-inch wheels and bright orange brake calipers. The length of the Omoda O5 GT is 4691 mm, which is 47 mm longer than that of the Russian conventional Eska. The remaining dimensions of the overseas GT version and our sedan without prefix are the same: width — 1814 mm, height — 1493 mm, wheelbase — 2650 mm. It is curious that the Mexican standard O5 sedan is larger than the similar model for the Russian Federation (length — 4680 mm versus 4644 mm, distance between the axles — 2670 mm). .jpg» />Omoda O5 GT for Mexico
The GT version also has its own salon (but the same as the Chery Arrizo 5 GT), inside there is a different front panel and central tunnel, and a scoreboard was installed instead of separate dashboard screens and a multimedia system. The “sported” sedan also received a touch-sensitive climate control unit — it is made in the form of a strip located under the central air vents.

In Mexico, the Omoda O5 GT will be available in two trim levels, the base has a combined tidy and multimedia screen (each with a diagonal of 10.25 inches), an engine start button, climate control, wireless charging for a smartphone, and cruise control. The more expensive version still has all-round cameras, heated and ventilated front seats, marking tracking and blind spot monitoring systems. jpg» />Omoda O5 GT for Mexico
Mexicans will be offered a sedan with the GT prefix with a 1.6 petrol turbo four with a capacity of 197 hp. and a seven-speed robotic box with two clutches. Note that it is already known that this turbo engine was “strangled” for the Russian Federation: our Omoda S5 GT will have a 150-horsepower version with the same 7DCT. The standard sedan in Russia is presented with a 1.5 engine (113 hp) or its turbo version (147 hp), both engines are equipped with a variator. In Mexico, a conventional four-door is only equipped with 1.5T and CVT. The drive is in any case exclusively front.

The Omoda O5 GT will be coming to the Mexican market soon, prices have not yet been announced. A standard sedan there starts at around $23,400. In Russia, the usual four-door Omoda S5 with an aspirator today costs from 2,249,900 rubles, for a model with a turbo engine they ask for at least 2,359,900 rubles (all prices are excluding promotions).
