West Ham have agreed a £38m deal to sign Mohammed Kudus from Ajax

West Ham United agreed to pay Ajax for the transfer of Mohammed Kudus, who is due to join the club in a deal that could be worth around £38m.

Kudus will undergo a medical this weekend and is believed to have agreed to a personal terms on a five-year deal at the London stadium.

Tim Steidten, West Ham's technical director, was with Kudus on Friday after flying to Bulgaria for Ajax's match against Ludogorets. Kudus scored a hat-trick in this match.

Kudus was a subject of interest for Chelsea this summer and also seemed close to a move to Brighton earlier in the window before the transfer stalled due to problems with Ghana. personal conditions of an international organization.

At a press conference on Friday afternoon, West Ham manager David Moyes declined to comment on the club's interest in Kudus, short of acknowledging the striker's hat-trick on Thursday.

«He's not our player, so I won't talk about another player from another club,» Moyes said. «I don't have much to say, but I noticed he scored a hat-trick last night.»

West Ham are also looking to add a new centre-forward to their roster, along with Kudus. and renewed their longstanding interest in Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesiri.

Sevilla are believed to be in danger of losing En-Nesiri, who impressed Morocco at last year's World Cup in Qatar. The 26-year-old is known for his aerial strength and could add more firepower to an already formidable set-piece at West Ham.
