Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson to undergo medical at Crystal Palace

England goalkeeper Dean Henderson has received an award to undergo a medical at Crystal Palace ahead of a possible move from Manchester United before Friday's transfer deadline.

26 The year-old Henderson was due to travel to London after United's game against Nottingham Forest this afternoon. who were themselves interested in signing him earlier this summer after a loan spell last season that helped them to stay in the Premier League.

Palace are looking for a goalkeeper and Vicente Guaita is refusing to play in pre-season friendlies as he wants to move from Selhurst Park.

Henderson is being looked at as a player who could claim the top spot. under the leadership of Roy Hodgson, whose goalkeepers also include Sam Johnston. Both have played for England under Gareth Southgate.

United and Palace are discussing a deal for Henderson and discussions have progressed far enough to undergo a medical examination before proceeding with other formalities of the deal, including personal conditions.

Henderson was recovering from a hip injury over the summer and a complaint was filed against him. excluding him for the second half of the last campaign. He went on tour with United in the Americas and worked mostly on his own to improve his fitness before being benched at the start of the Premier League season.

United manager Eric ten Hag targeted André Onan. in a £47.2m deal with Inter Milan, Henderson likely found his chances at Old Trafford to be limited, and this summer he was one of the most accomplished goalkeepers available on the market.

United are firmly targeting Altay Bayindira from Fenerbahce as No. 2 goalkeeper behind Onan, the Turkish club signed Dominik Livakovic last week. Benfica's Odysseas Vlachodimos also has fans at United.
