In China, the current Geely Emgrand sedan debuted in 2021; the brand itself considers it the fourth generation (in Russia, previous cars were sold under the names EC7 and Emgrand 7). This is a truly global model: it is sold in Latin America and the Middle East, and is also represented in the CIS. So, at the end of last year, Emgrand appeared in Belarus, and now the sedan is entering the Kazakh market.
Let us remind you that the current Emgrand is based on the BMA platform, on which the Geely Coolray SUV is also built. In terms of dimensions, the four-door is comparable to the Kia Cerato: the length of the “Chinese” is 4638 mm, width – 1822 mm, height – 1460 mm, wheelbase – 2650 mm. The passport ground clearance of the export Geely Emgrand is 152 mm. Trunk volume – 500 liters.

In Kazakhstan, the model is offered with a non-alternative 1.5 naturally aspirated petrol engine, which produces 122 hp. and 152 Nm. The engine is combined with a five-speed manual or a classic six-speed automatic. By the way, neither at home nor in Belarus there is a 6-automatic transmission — there the sedan is equipped with a CVT. In any case, the drive is exclusively front-wheel drive.
On the Kazakh market, the new Geely Emgrand is available in four trim levels: Standard, Comfort, Luxury and Flagship. All versions have LED DRLs, electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors, ESP and a pair of airbags. The basic sedan also has 15-inch wheels, fabric upholstery, air conditioning, and a multimedia system with an 8-inch screen. The Comfort package includes a light sensor, heated windshield wiper nozzles, heated front seats, climate control and rear parking sensors. The Luxury version includes 16-inch wheels, LED headlights, heated windshield wiper rest zones, a heated steering wheel, cruise control and a rear view camera. Finally, the top-end Geely Emgrand Flagship has 17-inch wheels, a sunroof, digital instrumentation, a leather interior, multimedia with a 12.3-inch diagonal screen, side airbags and curtain airbags.

The price of Geely Emgrand varies from 8,990,000 to 11,090,000 tenge, which is equivalent to approximately 1,880,000 — 2,320,000 rubles at the current exchange rate. At the same time, all versions are now subject to a “direct benefit” in the amount of 900,000 tenge (about 188,000 rubles; prices are indicated without it). The mentioned Kia Cerato in Kazakhstan will cost 11,090,000 – 14,090,000 tenge (2,320,000 – 2,947,000 rubles). However, the engine range of the “Korean” is wider, in addition it is richer: for example, a camera and a “warm” package are already included in the base, and the top-end Cerato has adaptive cruise and a set of electronic assistants.

In Russia, Geely today sells only crossovers. The company has not yet officially announced plans to bring the four-door Emgrand to our market. Meanwhile, the other day a certificate for a model with the SS11 index appeared in the Rosstandart database (the OTTS itself was not made publicly available) — this is the in-plant index of Emgrand. That is, it is possible that the new generation Geely Emgrand is still preparing for the start of Russian sales.
