Local production of cars of the Czech brand will start at the beginning of 2024. Also next year, fifteen Skoda showrooms will open in the country.
Skoda brand products left the automobile market of Kazakhstan back in 2021: as it became known in the fall of the same year, the bankruptcy of the dealer holding “BIPEK Auto Kazakhstan” was cited as the reason. The company acted as a distributor of Skoda cars, and also organized the assembly of models of the Czech brand at the Asia Auto plant located in Ust-Kamenogorsk. Production was stopped at the end of 2020, after which the importer switched to supplying finished cars to the country.
Then However, in 2021, the Kazakh media assumed that the Czech brand, owned by the German concern Volkswagen, would look for an opportunity to return to the car market of Kazakhstan, however, this would require additional investments: they were talking about spending on changing logistics chains, searching for new partners and establishing connections with local dealerships.
Now Skoda has officially announced its plans to return to the Kazakh automobile market. According to the press service, the Czech brand decided to attract a new partner for the sales and production of cars — the Allur company. The parties recently signed a partnership agreement, according to which in the near future four Skoda models will be launched at the local enterprise.

According to Skoda board member for sales and marketing Martin Jan, “the SUV segment is currently the second largest in the market,” so the company hopes the listed models “will resonate with customers in the region.” Let us remind you that the Kodiaq crossover recently changed its generation.

The Czech manufacturer intends to achieve a five percent share in total sales of new cars in the country over the next five years — from 2024 to 2028. It is worth noting that during its presence in this market (that is, from 2005 to 2021), Skoda delivered a total of about 23 thousand cars to customers.

In pre-crisis 2021, Skoda sold about 90.4 thousand cars in the Russian Federation, the leader of the brand was the budget five-door Skoda Rapid.
