Toyota IMV 0: an inexpensive “workhorse” tried on the image of a brutal SUV

Toyota continues to announce new products that it will show in a week at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 in Tokyo. One of the most interesting exhibits will be the promising commercial truck Toyota IMV 0.

Toyota IMV 0 was first shown in December last year as part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Thai division of the Japanese company, then in August this year the truck was brought to the auto show in Indonesia, and on October 25 its premiere will take place in its historical homeland, Japan.

The model name stands for Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle 0 (Zero) — this is an inexpensive commercial model for emerging markets. The Toyota IMV 0 is based on a strong and durable steel frame, the rear suspension is dependent leaf spring, the cabin design is made in the style of classic Toyota SUVs — for example, the recently updated Land Cruiser 70.

So far, Toyota IMV 0 is traveling to exhibitions as a concept car, but a production car is expected next year version, the production of which will initially be launched in Thailand, and then in other countries where durable and relatively inexpensive “workhorses” are in demand.

Depending on the place of production and sales market, Toyota IMV 0 will be equipped with a variety of power plants — diesel, gasoline, gas, hybrid and fully electric. The overall length of the base pickup truck with a single-row cab is 5300 mm, width is 1785 mm, height is 1740 mm, wheelbase is 3085 mm. The interior design is not declassified at the moment.

At the Tokyo exhibition, Toyota wants to demonstrate the widest range Possible applications for the IMV 0 could be a food truck, food truck, ambulance, camper, dump truck, or even an adventure pickup truck with an extended cab, wide track, knobby tires, and an expedition rack (shown in the title illustration).
