Toyota announced the premiere: new Camry?

It is assumed that in the next generation the Toyota sedan will retain versions only with an internal combustion engine. Of course, there will be a hybrid. The new product should hit the market next year.

The American division of Toyota has distributed a teaser of a certain model. The name of the car has not been disclosed, as has the presentation date. The company limited itself to only the signature: “Can you guess what’s on the horizon?” Well, the picture itself was designated “Hero of the New Dawn.” At the same time, the teaser clearly shows a passenger car, not a crossover. So what will the brand show?

The main and most promising version – the new generation Toyota Camry sedan is preparing for the premiere. Firstly, the current four-door has been in service since 2017; a more or less serious modernization was carried out in 2020. Moreover, the world premiere of the current generation model took place in the USA, and the American version was the first to receive new things. Secondly, camouflaged test prototypes have already been caught in the States, which means work on the next Camry has been going on for a long time. By the way, Camry is doing well in the US: from January to September, 217,975 cars were sold there (+1.7%). Among Toyota models, only the RAV4 crossover sells better (302,831 units, -0.2%).

According to preliminary data, the Camry will retain the GA-K platform, but it can be modified. American specialized media believe that the range will remain aspirated 2.5 and a hybrid modification, but the V6 3.5 engine may be replaced by a 2.4 turbo-four.

In the States, the new Camry is expected to go on sale next year.

Another version — on The teaser does not show a Camry at all, but a new Toyota Corolla or its “charged” version. True, it’s worth remembering that the current generation Corolla debuted later than the Camry – in 2018. However, this may well turn out to be a modernized model, because the younger Toyota never had a large-scale restyling — only small things.
