The owner of Mercedes-Benz assets brought a Foton Tunland G7 pickup truck to the Russian Federation

JSC MB RUS and GC Avtodom entered into an agreement with the Chinese manufacturer on the official import of the model. Sales of the truck will start in December.

The Foton Tunland G7 pickup truck, which was announced for the Russian market, is a Foton Tunland F9 model (this is the name for the home market) of the 2019 model. Let us note that Tunland had previously tried to gain a foothold in the Russian car market (the car was included in the local brand line from 2016 to 2019), but its results were very modest, but it was a pre-reform truck. Now both the model and the market situation have changed.

The length of the imported Foton Tunland G7 mid-size pickup truck is 5340 mm, width – 1940 mm, height – 1870 mm, and the distance between the axles is 3110 mm. The dimensions of the cargo platform are 1520 x 1580 x 440 mm. The model received 18-inch two-tone wheels, LED daytime running lights and taillights. Welcome lights are integrated into the exterior mirror housings, making it easier to enter the cabin at night.

The interior is trimmed with eco-leather, the list of equipment includes: keyless entry function, heated front seats, climate control, a combined instrument panel with a seven-inch display, an infotainment system with a 10-inch diagonal touchscreen, as well as an all-round camera, parking assistant and tire pressure monitoring .

The pickup also received frontal airbags, forward collision warning, lane control, pedestrian collision warning, blind spot monitoring and driver fatigue monitoring. For comfortable transportation of cargo, fastening loops are offered in combination with roll bars in the body and roof rails on the cab roof.

Under the hood of the Foton Tunland G7 all-wheel drive pickup truck there is a 2.0-liter diesel engine with output of 163 hp and maximum torque of 388 Nm. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF.

The truck has an independent double-wishbone spring suspension with telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers and a stabilizer bar at the front; at the rear there is a dependent leaf spring with telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers.

It is known that Foton Tunland G7 sales will be carried out through an affiliate network JSC MB RUS starting from December 2023. The model will be presented in Base, Comfort and Premium versions. Prices have not yet been announced.
