The current Emgrand sedan has been in service since 2021; it is based on the BMA platform, on which the Geely Coolray SUV, which is well known to Russians, is also built. The length of the four-door is 4638 mm, width – 1822 mm, height – 1460 mm, wheelbase – 2650 mm. That is, in terms of its dimensions, the “Chinese” is close, for example, to the Kia Cerato. The passport ground clearance of the Russian version of the Geely Emgrand is 151 mm, trunk volume is 500 liters.
We are supplied with cars with a 1.5 aspirated four-cylinder petrol with direct injection, the engine produces 122 hp. and 152 Nm, it can “power” AI-92. The Russian sedan is equipped with a five-speed manual transmission or a classic six-speed automatic transmission. By the way, Geely Emgrand still has a 6-automatic transmission in Kazakhstan, while a CVT is offered at home and in other countries. It is stated that our sedan with a 5-speed manual transmission will reach the first “hundred” in 12.9 seconds, and with an automatic transmission in 12.6 seconds. The maximum speed is the same for both modifications – 180 km/h.

In Russia, the new Geely Emgrand is offered in four trim levels at prices from 1,999,990 to 2,479,990 rubles(excluding shares). The arsenal of the basic Standard includes: 15-inch steel wheels, halogen headlights, LED DRLs, heated and electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, fabric upholstery, steering wheel adjustment for reach and height, air conditioning, analogue instrument panel with a 3.5-inch screen, multimedia system with An 8-inch display, a pair of airbags and an electronic stability control system. The Comfort version includes heated windshield washer nozzles, rear parking sensors, heated front seats, a USB connector for second-row passengers, single-zone climate control, a keyless entry system and an engine start button, an electromechanical parking brake with a function to hold the car in place.

A BAIC U5 Plus sedan of comparable size with a naturally aspirated 1.5 (105 hp) and 5-speed manual transmission now costs from 2,045,000 rubles, the same model with a CVT will cost at least 2,115,000 rubles. The price of an Omoda S5 with a 1.5 naturally aspirated engine (113 hp) starts at 2,319,900 rubles, while the Omoda four-door has a CVT by default. Well, the Kaiyi E5 sedan is available only with a 1.5 turbo-four (147 hp) and CVT at a price of 2,195,000 rubles.
