One of the most interesting new products of this year was the radically redesigned externally of the Sonata. The car exists with a single sedan body type, but we decided to present it in two more versatile versions.
The mid-size Sonata sedan dates back to 1985, when the first generation of the model was introduced, which lasted only a couple of years on the assembly line. The second generation, which has been in production for much longer (about five years), is interesting in that the body and interior design were developed by the famous Italian studio Italdesign under the direction of Giorgetto Giugiaro. Today the eighth generation of the Sonata is in production, its premier took place in the spring of 2019, and in March of this year the model noticeably transformed. The car currently exists exclusively as a sedan, but we were wondering what it could look like as a station wagon and as a very fashionable crossover version.

Despite the increasing popularity of crossovers and the departure of many passenger models from the market, such cars still remain in demand. The latest additions to this segment on the European market are the Volkswagen Passat and its sister Skoda Superb, which premiered just the other day. The Sonata station wagon and its all-terrain modification could give them good competition.

Hyundai Sonata with the factory index DN8 is built on the N3 platform, which is used by most of the new mid-size front-wheel drive models of the Hyundai and Kia brands (by the way, the eighth-generation Sonata was the first car made on this platform). The sedan is offeredon the domestic market with a 2.0 naturally aspirated petrol engine (160 hp) and a 1.6 T-GDI turbo-four (180 hp), as well as a 2.0 LPG gas engine (146 l .With.). The turbocharged version is equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the rest only have a 6-speed automatic transmission. In addition, there is an N Line version with a 290-horsepower 2.5 T-GDI turbo engine paired with an 8-speed robotic gearbox.
