Peugeot Rifter has found its own “face” after restyling

The refreshed passenger van is so far presented only in the form of an electric car. This option has the same filling, but it still has a longer range.

Last month, Stellantis showed a crowd of updated commercial models of its brands, including the Peugeot Partner “heel”. But the restyled purely passenger Peugeot Rifter was awarded a separate premiere today. So far, only the electric minivan with the prefix “e” in the name has been declassified, because from 2022 in most European countries the brand sells exclusively the “green” version. However, in some places in the Old World there are still gasoline and diesel Rifters, and subsequently “traditional” cars will probably be updated in the same way.

    It was – it became

The Peugeot e-Rifter now has its own “face”, not the same as the modernized Partner (pre-reform models generally repeated each other from the front). Van got original headlights with enlarged diode sections of running lights (as marketers intended, these elements should evoke associations with lion claws), and the top cap, which imitates a radiator grille, has glossy black plates. The palette of body colors has also been expanded. And of course, e-Rifter switched to a new brand logo. As before, the van will be available in two lengths (4.4 or 4.7 meters), with a five- or seven-seater cabin.

The interior of the updated Peugeot e-Rifter has not yet been shown; the brand has limited itself to only a description. It is stated that the minivan received a new 10-inch virtual instrument panel and a similar-sized tablet multimedia system (previously there was an 8-inch display), the steering wheel and finishing materials were also replaced, plus the number of USB connectors was increased. The list of equipment also includes a panoramic roof, wireless charging for a smartphone, adaptive cruise control and an improved rear view camera.

The technology is the same, the e-Rifter has a 136-horsepower electric motor and a battery with a capacity of 50 kWh (however, the engine has increased torque – 270 instead of 260 Nm). But at the same time, Peugeot claims that the range has increased: 320 km instead of 280 km for the pre-reform electric van (according to the WLTP cycle). The increase is explained by the introduction of a new regenerative braking system and the installation of a heat pump.

The exact start date for sales of the restyled Peugeot e-Rifter has not yet been announced, as well as prices. A pre-reform electric van in France, for example, costs from 37,850 euros (excluding shares).
