The three-row SUV was announced as a separate new model, although the SUV is already partly familiar to Russians: the X90 Plus was taken as the basis.
In October, the Jetour brand, owned by Chery, announced the creation of a new Shanhai line for electrified cars. At the same time, the first image of the Shanhai L6 SUV was published, which is a commercial embodiment of the Jetour X-2 concept. And even earlier — in September — another SUV of a new family appeared in a photo of the Chinese Ministry of Industry. So now this cross has appeared in branded pictures: the model was called Jetour Shanhai L9.

The brand itself positions the large “nine” as a completely new crossover. However, in reality, what we have in front of us is a redesigned three-row Jetour X90. Let us remind you that the original SUV is also available in Russia; here it has the Plus prefix. Shanhai L9 received a new radiator grille and front bumper. In addition, the model received a two-story head optics: on top there is an LED strip that acts as running lights, below there are blocks of main headlights.
The length of the Jetour Shanhai L9 is 4862 mm, width – 1925 mm, height – 1784 mm, wheelbase – 2850 mm. The Russian X90 Plus is slightly shorter (4858 mm) and lower (1780 mm), the remaining dimensions of the cars are the same.
The interior of the “nine” has not yet been revealed; the brand has only announced that the crossover has a seven-seater version. Most likely, inside the Shanhai L9 the donor SUV was repeated, that is, the new product also has a display (combined virtual instrument panel and touchscreen of the multimedia system).

The SUV is a rechargeable hybrid, the installation includes a 1.5 petrol turbo-four (156 hp). s.) and an electric motor. Some local specialized media write that the model is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 19.43 kWh, and the car will supposedly be able to travel about 84 km on electric power alone. Although this indicator is probably measured according to the Chinese cycle, so the actual range will be more modest.
Premiere Jetour Shanghai L9 will launch on November 14th. In the future, a hybrid crossover may well reach Russia. By the way, the day before the Russian office of the parent company Chery announced the emergence of a new sub-brand Chery NEV, under which hybrids and electric cars will be sold.
