NOVOGORSK (Moscow region), November 14, Alexander Sergeev. Krasnodar footballer Alexander Koksharov is similar in appearance to the Norwegian forward of Manchester City Erling Haaland, but in terms of his game he is still far from him, said senior coach of the Russian youth team Ivan Shabarov.
The Russian youth team (players born in 2004-2005) will play friendly matches against peers from the Belarusian team (November 15) and with Dynamo Minsk (November 19). 18-year-old Koksharov received a second call to the youth team; he took part in the Brazilian tour in October. This season, the forward played three matches in the Russian Premier League (RPL) for Krasnodar, as well as three matches in the Russian Cup, where he scored a double against Spartak Moscow (3:2).
“»Koksharov is only in his second training camp with us. He played well there. Outwardly he looks like Haaland, but in terms of his game he is still far away. Nikita Saltykov from Krylya Sovetov has progressed better than anyone from the youth team over the year. He appears most often on the field,” Shabarov told reporters.
«We have the same tasks — testing our strength in international matches. The composition has not changed much. There are guys who, due to injuries, did not come to the national team. Matvey Kislyak had a little fever, the rest are feeling well. Matvey will come with us, we'll see «on his well-being. Saltykov has a slight injury, we decided not to risk it. This is the last training camp of the youth team this year,» the coach added.
Spartak Moscow previously loaned 19-year-old football player Daniil Zorin to Dynamo Minsk; the midfielder scored six goals in nine meetings as part of the Belarusian team.
““The right decision was made regarding Daniil Zorin. His condition has changed significantly for the better,” Shabarov noted.
