MOSCOW, November 17, Alexander Sergeev. Krasnodar football player Alexander Koksharov said in an interview that he was surprised by the cultural characteristics of Brazil.
The Russian youth team went to Brazil in October, where they played a number of matches with youth teams of Brazilian clubs. Football players born in 2004-2005 took part in the tour. The Russians tied with their peers from SKA Brazil (2:2) and Sao Paulo (1:1), and also beat Palmeiras (3:1) and Santos (6:4).
“”I have only positive impressions, everything went great. Unfortunately, we didn’t win all the matches, but we played well enough and never lost. The attitude towards us was good, the people were very hospitable. I didn’t even think that I would ever… then I will play in Brazil. I only remember that during the 2014 World Cup I wanted to be there (smiles),” Koksharov said.
“The infrastructure there is completely different. The houses stand on top of each other, there is always such a street vibe, movement. Everything is different, no similarities with Krasnodar. Due to the high crime rate, we did not leave the hotel, but there were no problems. We got there to all places by bus,” the player added.
Koksharov also said that football in Brazil is something special for the locals. “The fields in the courtyards are of poor quality, but there are always a lot of people there. One day we were driving towards the ocean, there was a heavy downpour. We looked, and everyone was playing football on the beach,” the striker concluded.
