MOSCOW, November 17 The Association of Microfinance Organizations «Siberia» sees a trend with illegal issuance of loans to participants in a special military operation, said the director of the association Nailya Lipatova at the conference of the National Association of Professional Collection Agencies (NAPCA).
“The big problem now is the so-called family loans, when relatives receive these loans online using the documents of their grandparents. This has become a growing fraud, it is progressing upward, especially very often for pensioners,” she said.
“Recently, we have noticed a trend in the association that we have begun to take out loans for young people who are in the Northern Military District zone. That is, according to their documents, they have access to State Services, they have access to various personal accounts, and with the help of this data they receive loans for these individuals,” Lipatova added.
The largest association of participants in the Russian microfinance market — the self-regulatory organization (SRO) «MiR» — explained to the agency that such cases are not widespread.
«Unfortunately, most professional participants in the financial market do not have the technological ability to check whether the applicant is a member of the SRO at the time of applying for funds. However, in isolated cases known to the SRO, our members, when applying to the relatives of such persons, carried out additional checks and in the case misuse of personal data, such loans were written off,” they said.
