The new product from the Korean brand is expected to debut at the end of next year and enter the market in 2025.
Kia unveiled its updated strategy last month as part of its special Kia EV Day event. According to it, by 2026 the manufacturer intends to sell 1 million electric vehicles annually, and by 2030 this figure should increase to 1.6 million units. In order to achieve its goals, Kia needs “green” new products, one of them will be the production sedan (or cross-fastback) EV4.
Kia EV4 Concept
For the first time, the Korean company presented a prototype of the future new product during the same Kia EV Day, which took place in October. In addition, the concept was presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show, which started recently. It is expected that the production version of the new product, which will be given the same name as the show car — Kia EV4 — will debut at the end of next year; its appearance is still kept secret: previously, spy photographers caught carefully camouflaged prototypes of the future model during tests.
The company is positioning the new product as a sedan, but as we noted earlier, its third volume is not visually highlighted, so it can also be classified as a cross-fastback. The designer of the Spanish publication Motor.es offers his own version of the potential appearance of the Kia EV4: judging by the rendering, the commercial version can gain a lot from the concept. Thus, the electric car in the image has a similarly designed front part with vertical lines of running lights, the same body shape and similar rims with an open triangle pattern.
However, the electric car in the render also has details inherent in the production version. We are talking, in particular, about retractable door handles and traditional exterior mirrors, which have replaced rear view cameras. The artist also provided the new product with a different air intake integrated into the lower part of the front bumper, a spoiler at the top of the rear and a “shark fin” antenna on the roof.

There is no information yet about the interior of the production version of the Kia EV4. The concept's interior features eco-friendly materials, including recycled cotton, which has been dyed using madder roots and walnut shells. On the front panel there is a large horizontal screen that combines a virtual instrument panel and a touchscreen for the infotainment system. The two-spoke steering wheel has the shape of an uneven oval.

According to preliminary data, the basis The new product will be based on the E-GMP platform, like the Kia EV6, in which case the model will probably be equipped with traction batteries with a capacity of 58 and 77.4 kWh (to choose from). There is no official information about the technology yet; it is expected that the four-door will have versions with both a single electric motor located on the front axle and a dual-motor power plant. The estimated range without recharging is about 700 km.
Sales of the new product from the Korean brand will begin in 2025, the company will announce a more precise date later. The publication suggested that the starting price tag of the model on the old-world market will be approximately 36 thousand euros (equivalent to approximately 3.5 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
