MURMANSK, November 21 A court in Apatity, Murmansk region, took into custody a 20-year-old woman who is accused of strangling her one-year-old child, reported the regional SUSC of the Russian Federation.
According to investigators, on Monday night, a woman born in 2003, while in an apartment on Moskovsky Lane in the city of Apatity, experiencing personal hostility, strangled her young child, born in 2022, who died at the scene of the crime.

“Currently, at the request of the investigator, a preventive measure has been chosen for the defendant in the form of detention for a period of two months,” it says message.

It was previously reported that the woman, who also has an older child, confessed to committing the crime. The regional prosecutor's office and the Investigative Committee, in turn, began checking compliance with the requirements of the law by neglect prevention agencies and responsible officials when organizing work with families registered for preventive care, the effectiveness and timeliness of the measures taken. The eldest child was removed from the family.
