The total circulation of coupes and roadsters of all generations exceeded 662.7 thousand cars. The last copy recently rolled off the assembly line of the Hungarian Audi plant.
The German company Audi presented a concept coupe in 1995 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Three years later, production of the serial version of the model began, and in 1999 the family expanded to include a roadster. Over the past time, the Audi TT has managed to change generations twice: the coupe and roadster of the latest third generation debuted in 2014. It became known last spring that the model would not wait for the next generation change.

The manufacturer announced in February 2023 that the production of the Audi TT would be discontinued after all the two-doors of the limited edition Final Edition rolled off the assembly line. Now it has happened: the company decided to show the last copy of the Audi TT, which ended its 25-year career, pictures were posted on the brand’s social networks. The gala event, to which the predecessors of the current TT were “invited,” took place at the Audi plant in Győr (Hungary).
It is known that from February 18, 1998 to November 10, 2023, a total of 662,762 Audi TT units were produced. The final car was the TTS coupe, equipped with a 2.0-liter petrol turbo engine producing 320 hp. (maximum torque — 400 Nm) and Quattro all-wheel drive system. This engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Before leaving the market, the Audi TT model made its presence felt in various markets with its final versions. Thus, in Europe the TT RS Coupe iconic edition became a farewell performance, in Japan the special series TT Coupe Final Edition and TTS Coupe memorial edition appeared, and in the USA the German manufacturer brought a batch of TT RS Heritage Edition to the USA at the end of 2021. These all-wheel drive vehicles are equipped with a 400-horsepower 2.5-liter TFSI engine (maximum torque of 480 Nm), which comes complete with a seven-speed S tronic robot.
It was previously reported that the Audi TT will not have a direct successor. At the same time, the company does not exclude the possibility that the model will have an ideological successor, which, for the sake of current “green” trends, will be equipped with a fully electric “filling”. The German manufacturer has not yet made a final decision on this potential new product.

Recall that Audi is also preparing to say goodbye to the R8 sports car. The farewell version was announced in the fall of 2022; it was the Coupe GT RWD version. This rear-wheel drive two-door, equipped with a 620-horsepower 5.2-liter V10 engine, received a carbon aerodynamic body kit and a customizable drift mode. The special version was produced in a limited edition of only 333 copies.
It is known that the Audi R8 will have a successor with all-electric technology, but there are no details about it yet. According to preliminary data, it will be based on either the SSP Sport platform with a flat battery in the floor, or a “trolley” on which the new “green” Porsche 718 will be based — with the battery vertically located behind the backs of the driver and the only passenger.
