Downing Street's Instagram post before the amendments
Downing Street was also criticized for the mistake by Northern Ireland politicians as Labor party.
A Labor source told The Telegraph: «With the Tories it is always difficult to know whether they are too incompetent to check what they say and do, or too ignorant to know it.» this is wrong.
“In any case, it does the people of Northern Ireland a disservice to have people at the center of our government who know so little about these kinds of issues.”
“These people don't understand us «
Doug Beattie, leader of the Ulster Unionist Party, told the BBC: «There are people who want to give all the power we've been devolved back to Westminster, and that's what Westminster is doing.»
“They got rid of our leveling up funding, they brought us the Northern Ireland Protocol, they brought us the Windsor Framework and now they're posting things on Instagram where they use the wrong flag.
“These people don't understand us, they they don't know us. We are better served by a decentralized government.”
Northern Ireland did not receive any funding in the latest round of local handouts from the Department for Equalization, Housing and Communities (DLUHC), despite receiving £120 million in the previous two rounds.
DLUHC said that although it will «continue to work closely» with previous financial leaders, the government is «not proceeding» with any additional funding in Northern Ireland due to the lack of a functioning executive.
The Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) boycotted Stormont with early 2022 over post-Brexit trade rules for the region.
It had been hoped that the Windsor Framework Agreement, negotiated with Brussels by Rishi Sunak earlier this year, would break the impasse, but the DUP was unhappy with the agreement. Mr Sunak has renegotiated the talks and remains on the sidelines.
Northern Irish dancers were seen performing outside 10 Downing Street along with a live band before the reception in a video posted on Twitter by Steve Baker, the minister in the Northern Ireland office.
“It’s great that Northern Irish culture is being celebrated in Downing Street tonight,” Mr Baker said.
