SAMARA, November 22 Train passengers injured in a collision with a diesel locomotive in the Ulyanovsk region do not require hospitalization, the regional Ministry of Health reported.
As reported by Russian Railways, at 14.49 Moscow time, the Perm — Adler passenger train at the Bryandino station (Ulyanovsk region) collided with a stationary shunting diesel locomotive, 25 people sought medical help with bruises. There is no rolling stock derailment.

In response to the emergency, the Central Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic safety rules and operation of railway transport). The maximum sanctions under this article include imprisonment for two years.
Russian Railways reported that the collision of a train with a locomotive occurred due to a “gross violation in the organization of the station’s work,” the company is conducting an internal audit . The victims will receive insurance compensation, Russian Railways are ready to cover the costs of treatment.
