A pensioner in Dagestan was robbed by girls who helped her with housework

MAKHACHKALA, November 27 Two young girls were detained in Dagestan on suspicion of stealing half a million rubles and jewelry worth 450 thousand rubles from the house of an 84-year-old pensioner, the press reported. — service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic.
“»An 84-year-old resident of the village of Babayurt filed a statement with the police. She said that an unknown person entered her house and stole half a million from a safe, as well as gold items worth 450,000 rubles. The detectives identified and delivered two local residents aged 18 and 23,” the message says.

The girls told the police that they often visited an elderly woman and helped her with housework for a fee. During their visits, they, knowing where the owner kept the key to the safe, little by little took jewelry and cash from there. To prevent the pensioner from guessing that her savings were missing, they stuffed her wallet with fake bills.

The thieves spent almost all the money on buying clothes, cosmetics and gadgets, and sold some of the jewelry to a pawnshop.
«The stolen property was partially confiscated and returned to the victim. A criminal case has been opened under paragraph «c» of Part 3 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation («Theft»),» the Ministry of Internal Affairs added.
