The compact four-door is offered with a non-alternative 1.5 aspirated engine, but you can choose a box.
The previous generation Chevrolet Sail sedan comes from China and was developed jointly by General Motors and SAIC. The model was present not only in the “heavenly” market, but also in Latin American countries, and in Mexico, for example, it is still in service, but there it is sold under the name Aveo. And now a new generation of Sail is presented in Chile: under this name, the new Aveo arrived there.

Let us remind you that the current Aveo was also created in China, only it is produced there today, and the same joint venture is responsible for the production. At the same time, the model is not sold in the Middle Kingdom: Mexico became the debut market for the new state employee, and later it appeared in several other Latin American countries. And while the Chevy Aveo comes in both sedan and hatchback form, the Sail is available exclusively in a four-door version—at least for now.

Outside and inside, the four-doors repeat each other, only the nameplates on the rear are different. The length of the Chevrolet Aveo/Sail is 4490 mm, width — 1695 mm, height — 1490 mm, wheelbase — 2550 mm. The declared trunk volume of the sedan is 475 liters.
Under the hood is a 1.5 naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 98 hp. and 142 Nm. Like the Chevrolet Aveo, the Sail sedan is offered with a six-speed manual or CVT. The drive, of course, is only front-wheel drive.

Already in the base, the model has six airbags, all-round disc brakes and air conditioning. The top-end Chevrolet Sail for Chile is equipped with climate control, a multimedia system with an 8-inch diagonal touchscreen and a rear view camera.
The price of a new Chinese-made Sail ranges from 11,590,000 to 13,390,000 Chilean pesos (excluding shares), which is equivalent to approximately 1,184,000 — 1,368,000 rubles at the current exchange rate. For comparison, the new generation Hyundai Accent (our failed next Solaris) in Chile costs from 14,790,000 pesos (1,511,000 rubles), but the model of the Korean brand is much richer: by default it has a multimedia system, a rear view camera and cruise control (“cruise” for Sail is not provided even for an additional fee).
