Tinkoff and the largest online business companies, including Wildberries, Ozon, Yandex Market, Avito, Megamarket, Lamoda, SDEK, Boxberry, Sunlight, Flowwow, proposed to establish Online Entrepreneur Day in Russia. The initiative to create a professional holiday was also supported by the analytical agencies Data Insight and INFOLine-Analytics.
Online Entrepreneur Day will unite people who have connected their lives with entrepreneurship on the Internet. The new professional holiday will be celebrated on the first Thursday after Black Friday — this year it will fall on November 30.

Why is this important
Online trade plays a huge role in the life and economy of the country. According to Data Insight, back in 2022, online trading accounted for 15% of all retail in Russia, and in the non-food retail segment — all 30%. Many people not only use Internet services, but also work in this area.
According to Rosstat, more than 5 million Russians earn money on online platforms; this figure has increased 1.5 times over the year. Hundreds of thousands of sellers are actively selling goods on marketplaces, tens of thousands of entrepreneurs are developing order pick-up points.
The importance of online entrepreneurship — and especially online commerce — is constantly growing. During the difficult times of the pandemic and transformation of 2020–2022, those who build their business online remained one of the pillars of the economy. And these people deserve recognition and their professional holiday.
Most other significant sectors of the economy have their own holidays: Day of Agricultural and Processing Industry Workers in October, Day of Trade Workers in July, etc. There are several holidays partly related to online business: Runet Day is celebrated in April, and in May — Russian Entrepreneur Day. But there is no single day that would unite people who have connected their lives with online entrepreneurship.

The end of the year is the hottest season for online business. Shortly after the November sales (Singles' Day and Black Friday), the New Year's rush begins. For sellers on marketplaces, employees of delivery services and everyone who maintains the IT infrastructure, this is a gigantic load. On Online Entrepreneur Day, people will be able to take a break, get together with friends and celebrate their professional holiday. This year it will fall on November 30.
