The updated Exeed VX crossover for Russia has been declassified: a Mercedes-like interior and 8-speed automatic transmission

The large SUV of the premium sub-brand Chery has also changed slightly in appearance. Prices will be announced in a week.

The Russian office of the brand announced the restyled crossover Exeed VX a few days ago on its pages on social networks. Now the company has shared details about our version, in addition, fresh branded images and a short video have been published.

As expected, on the outside, the modernized crossover intended for the Russian Federation repeated the design of the International Edition, which appeared in China in early November. Differences from the Russian pre-reform SUV are a retouched front bumper and a larger radiator grille, plus there are more horizontal dies on the grille. Note that in the Middle Kingdom, the crossover may still have vertical “wedges” at the front, but the export version is not allowed such a design.

Inside, our VX also copied the restyled version for China. If we compare it with the previous crossover, the interior has been completely redesigned, and it has been decorated in the style of a Mercedes. Thus, the Exeed VX has a new front panel with three displays under one glass (the previous SUV has a two-screen display): a 15.6-inch tablet is located in the middle, the instrument and passenger screens are 12.3 inches each. Multimedia – with Qualcomm 8155 microchip and over-the-air update capability.

The central air deflectors were placed on top of the touchscreens; there is no longer a separate climate sensor unit with washers (all settings are built into the largest screen). The crossover also received a new steering wheel with touch buttons; the right steering column lever is now responsible for shifting gears, while a box covered with a curtain appeared on the tunnel. The seat settings controls were placed on the doors — again, like Mercedes-Benz. The updated Exeed VX will be available with a seven- or six-seat cabin.

The Russian cross is still promised front seats with massage function, active noise reduction system, ten airbags, parking assistant, all-round visibility system with the “transparent chassis” function.

The Exeed VX retains the 2.0 petrol turbo-four (on our pre-reform crossover the engine produces 249 hp and 385 Nm), but the gearbox is new: the seven-speed “robot” with two clutches has been replaced by a classic eight-speed Aisin automatic. In addition, the new, sixth generation BorgWarner electro-hydraulic clutch is responsible for connecting the rear axle. Finally, off-road driving modes Snow, Mud, Sand and Off-Road have been added (they join the Eco, Standard and Sport modes).

Prices for the updated Exeed VX will be announced 7 December. The pre-restyling crossover price now costs from 5,300,000 rubles (excluding shares).
