DOM.RF and the Moscow Department of Urban Policy will introduce TIM and AI in construction

DOM.RF and the Department of Urban Development Policy of the City of Moscow agreed on cooperation in the field of digitalization of the construction industry, including the introduction of information modeling (TIM) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. An agreement on this was signed on November 30, 2023 at the strategic session “Transition to TIM for developers.” It was organized by the Moscow Department of Urban Development Policy, DOM.RF and the State Budgetary Institution Mosstroyinform.

The agreement provides for integration between the Urban Development Management Information System and the Unified Housing Construction Information System nash.dom.rf, as well as joint work in the field of data analytics and the use of artificial intelligence technologies.

“Given the approaching deadline for the mandatory transition to information modeling technologies, the agreement between DOM.RF and the Department of Urban Development Policy of the City of Moscow is of particular relevance. This is not just a desire to use the latest IT solutions in the construction sector, but also a clear signal to the market about the need to adapt to the coming changes. We see this as an opportunity for all market participants to make all the necessary management decisions and intensify their efforts to implement TIM,” said Alexander Lukyanov, director of digitalization of the housing sector of DOM.RF.

As early as July 1, 2024, the use of information modeling technologies will become mandatory for the housing construction sector. At the same time, according to DOM.RF data, the level of TIM penetration among developers remains low – it is about 20% of the total number of developers. At the same time, the most difficult situation is for small regional companies. The city of Moscow is the leader in digitalization of the construction sector.

“The introduction of modern technologies into the construction process and digitalization of the construction industry is a very important aspect of the work of the capital’s Department of Urban Development Policy, especially with regard to information modeling technologies. Cooperation with DOM.RF will allow Moscow to share its experience, which can be useful throughout the country, and learn from the experience of its colleagues. I am confident that through joint efforts we will be able to accelerate the pace of digitalization not only in our capital, but throughout the country, which will significantly help reduce administrative barriers, as well as speed up the pace of construction of new facilities. This, in turn, will give us the opportunity to provide housing for everyone,” emphasized Andrei Kurilov, deputy head of the Moscow Department of Urban Development Policy.

At the end of September, DOM.RF released software of its own design for TIM “Digital Control of Construction”. As part of the strategic session, DOM.RF entered into a cooperation agreement with one of the largest Russian software manufacturers for TIM, Renga Software, which is developing a domestic TIM system for joint architectural and construction design, development of load-bearing structures, internal utility networks and the technological part of buildings and structures .

DOM.RF and Renga Software agreed to unify the digital information model data templates used in their software so that users can work with them both within the Renga software and in Digital Control construction” from DOM.RF.

“Today, at the strategic session “Transition to TIM for developers,” not only a productive discussion took place on the issues of digitalization of the Russian real estate market, but also an important agreement was signed between Renga Software and DOM.RF, which will contribute to the digitalization of the country’s construction industry and the development of implementation and application of information modeling technologies in the housing construction market. We are joining forces to provide users with greater flexibility and convenience when working with information models in our software products. For this purpose, unified templates will now be used. We expect that information modeling technologies will be even more actively introduced and used in the design of buildings and structures, especially since there are companies and developments on the Russian market that are ready to offer users their digital tools and products for these purposes,” said the CEO of Renga Software Evgeny Shuvalov.
