Roscosmos hopes for the first Angara launch from Vostochny in 2024

MOSCOW, November 28 Roscosmos hopes that the first launch of the Angara rocket from the new launch pad at the Vostochny Cosmodrome will take place before April, said First Deputy General Director of the state corporation Andrey Elchaninov.
“We hope that the first launch… will take place in the first quarter of 2024 from a new launch at the Vostochny Cosmodrome,” Elchaninov said at the Congress of Young Scientists.

Construction of the complex for Angara on Vostochny began in 2018, the first launch is planned for 2024 . So far there have been three launches of the light one (the first in July 2014) and three launches of the heavy Angara, all of them took place from the Plesetsk cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk region.

Comprehensive testing of the new launch infrastructure began at Vostochny on November 16, 2023.
