MOSCOW, December 1 Last season's champion, Dutchman Max Verstappen from The Red Bull team has become the highest paid Formula 1 driver in the 2023 season, Forbes reports.
Over the past season, the two-time Formula 1 champion earned $70 million, winning 19 of 22 races.
Second place on the list was taken by Briton Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes, who finished the season in third place. The seven-time champion of the “royal race” earned 55 million. The third in terms of income was the two-time world champion Spaniard Fernando Alonso (34 million), who took fourth place in the driver standings.
Next in the top ten are: 4. Sergio Perez (Red Bull, 26 million); 5. Charles Leclerc (Ferrari, 19); 6. Lando Norris (McLaren, 15); 7. Carlos Sainz (Ferrari, 14); 8. George Russell (Mercedes, 9); 9. Pierre Gasly, Oscar Piastri (Alpin, McLaren — 8 each).
