MOSCOW, December 8 Former sports director of the St. Petersburg football club » Zenit Javier Ribalta, who, according to media reports, is a candidate for a similar post at Spartak, arrived in Moscow, Match TV reports.
Earlier, a number of media reported that Ribalta could soon replace Briton Paul Ashworth as Spartak's sports director.
As the source notes, Ribalta was met at Sheremetyevo airport by a security officer of the capital club, who earlier on Thursday accompanied Spartak head coach Guillermo Abascal at a meeting of the Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU KDK). The functionary himself said that he arrived in Moscow “on vacation.”
Ribalta was the sports director of Zenit from 2018 to 2021. The last place of work of the Spanish functionary was the French Marseille, which he left in October.
