YEKATERINBURG, December 9More than 130 houses, where more than 11 thousand people live, as well as kindergartens, schools and clinics in Nizhny Tagil were left without heat supply due to a utility accident, the regional prosecutor’s office reports on Telegram.
«»On the eighth of December at about 20.00 (18.00 Moscow time) at the intersection of Okuneva and Entuziastov streets in Nizhny Tagil, there was a break in the main heating network operated by the municipal unitary enterprise «Gorenergo-NT», which provides heat supply to 89 apartment buildings and 45 private houses, 5 kindergartens, 4 schools and 2 clinics. Over 11.7 thousand people live in these houses,” the message says.
It is clarified that the gust is caused by excess coolant pressure in the network, which arose when the parameters were increased to maintain the proper temperature regime in residential premises in conditions of a sharp drop in air temperature.
According to the department, on Saturday morning, 41 apartment buildings and most social infrastructure facilities were provided with backup heat supply. Completion of work to eliminate the utility accident is scheduled for the end of December 9.
According to the Ural Hydrometeorological Center, until December 13, abnormally cold weather is expected in the Sverdlovsk region with average daily air temperatures below the climate norm by 10-17 degrees. The lowest temperature is expected on the night of December 11 — in the north and east of the Sverdlovsk region it is expected from -33 to -38 degrees, in the lowlands — up to 45 degrees below zero.
