The young Rhino Racing team from the Lithuanian city of Kaunas presented a prototype of a mid-engine supercar of its own design, which will be supplied as a kit for self-assembly. We have started accepting pre-orders, the first customers will receive their boxes with parts next summer.
The kit car genre (as do-it-yourself cars are called) is considered fading due to the difficulty of allowing such cars on public roads, but in the USA and UK kit cars can still be registered as road cars — these are the markets the Lithuanian car is primarily targeting. Rhino Racing team, although, of course, anyone can purchase their car exclusively for track use.

Rhino Racing is a small team of young enthusiasts with no experience in the automotive industry. Chief engineer Vejas Pajarskas, however, was previously involved in the design of yachts; he acquired the necessary knowledge in automotive engineering on his own by studying specialized literature and watching videos on YouTube.
The Rhino RR01 is based on a spatial frame made of aluminum pipes, the outer panels are made of fiberglass, the suspension is push-rod type on double wishbones “in a circle”. Overall length of Rhino RR01 — 4310 mm, width — 1940 mm, height — 1135 mm, wheelbase — 2540 mm. The prototype weighs about a ton, but the production vehicle will be 270 kg lighter after design optimization. The interior is designed extremely simply; Rhino Racing developed a multifunctional steering wheel with a built-in instrument panel independently.
You can become the owner of a Rhino RR01 for just 25,000 euros (excluding taxes), but it will not be a full-fledged car, but just a blank — a body and chassis with adjustable Nitron R3 shock absorbers. In theory, you can attach any power unit to such a blank at your own peril and risk.

For an additional payment of 27,500 euros, in addition to the “bare” chassis and body, the buyer will receive powerful AP Racing brakes with a diameter of 362 mm with 6-piston calipers, 19-inch wheels with Toyo Proxes tires, a Tilton 600 pedal assembly, an engine cooling system, a completely equipped interior with lightweight Tillett B6 GRP carbon fiber buckets, all-LED optics, two aluminum fuel tanks with a total volume of 80 liters and all the necessary body fittings.

For the power unit you need to pay another 37,500 euros: for this money the buyer will receive a specially modified and tuned 5.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol V10 from the Audi R8 with a power of 480 hp. paired with a racing 6-speed sequential gearbox. All power is transmitted to the rear wheels through an electronically controlled limited-slip differential.
Dynamic qualities of the Lithuanian supercar have not yet been disclosed, since the prototype has a period of development tests ahead with the participation of a professional racer, but by the summer of next year Rhino Racing expects to complete development and begin delivering assembly kits to customers.
