The other day, patent images of the updated French crossover appeared on the Internet, thanks to which we have the opportunity to evaluate all the appearance features of the upcoming new product.
The compact European crossover Captur, built on the basis of the Clio hatchback, was first presented in 2013 at the Geneva Motor Show. It is worth noting that the Kaptur model was made for the Russian market (and other emerging markets) in 2016. Externally, it is almost similar to the European SUV, but technically it is a completely different car, built on the B0 platform. Today the second generation Captur is on the assembly line; its premiere took place in 2019. The time is approaching for a planned restyling, and we already have patent images of the updated car at our disposal. What will it be like?

All the main changes in appearance will be concentrated at the front: the crossover will receive a completely new “face”, made in the current angular style of the company (the new Scenic electric crossover, presented in September of this year, received a similar look). The restyled Captur has new headlights, united by a contrasting horizontal insert, numerous holes of different sizes and a narrow slot in the front bumper. The hood will also change and become almost flat, but the fenders are the only element of the front that will not change. The restyling will not affect the sidewalls either; as for the rear, you can only pay attention to the slightly modified plastic trim at the bottom of the rear bumper. You can also expect the appearance of new company logos.

The second generation Renault Captur is made on the CMF-B platform. While there is no reliable information about changes in the engine range, the current crossover on the European market is available exclusively with gasoline engines: the base model has a 1.0 TCe turbocharged engine (90 hp), there is also a mild hybrid with a turbocharged 4-cylinder 1.3 TCe ( 140 or 160 hp) and a rechargeable HEV with naturally aspirated 1.6 (total output – 145 hp). In addition, there is an option with a 1.0 gas engine. All versions are equipped with front-wheel drive.
