The Bryansk Regional Court found the defendant guilty of committing crimes under Part 3 of Art. 30, art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted high treason, that is, the commission by a citizen of the Russian Federation of switching to the side of the enemy) and under Part 3 of Art. 30, part 1 art. 322 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted illegal crossing of the state border of the Russian Federation).
It is noted that the defendant admitted his guilt in attempting to illegally cross the border, but denied his intention to take part in hostilities on the side of Ukraine.
