It is assumed that the production version of the new product from the German brand will go on sale on the European market in 2026.
The Volkswagen brand continues to invest in the development of its “green” line. One of the upcoming models should be the “starter” small hatchback Volkswagen ID.1; it is expected that its cost on the European market will not exceed 20 thousand euros. The prototype of the model, which will be one step higher in the brand hierarchy, was presented in March of this year, its role was played by the Volkswagen ID.2 all concept.

The model will have an “elevated” version, which will take the place of an entry-level crossover in the lineup. It will probably be based on the Volkswagen ID.2all SUV concept, a sketch of which the brand published today. The darkened image shows the profile of a show car with short overhangs, wheel arch trims, a voluminous front bumper, a sloping windshield and a spoiler on the top of the tailgate.

The list of differences between the ID.2all SUV and the prototype shown in the spring includes an unusual design element on the rear pillar — three horizontal slats located at an angle below each other. The current Volkswagen ID.Buzz has similar stripes. The concept's LED headlights and lights will likely be the same as the ID.2all hatchback.
It is expected that the interior of the new product will be designed approximately the same as that of the Volkswagen ID.2 all concept. This means that the interior will receive practical finishing materials, physical buttons, as well as a separate display for the virtual tidy and a modern infotainment system with a large touchscreen.
Most likely, the production versions of the new VW models will have the same “filling”, although there are practically no official details about it yet. It is possible that it will move on from the ID.2 all concept. It is known that compact electric vehicles will be based on the simplified modular MEB Entry platform.

The prototype was equipped with a single 226-horsepower electric motor, which is located on the front axle. This five-door car takes less than 7 seconds to accelerate from zero to “hundreds”, the maximum speed is 160 km/h. The choice will likely be offered by traction batteries with a capacity of 38 and 56 kWh. The maximum range on one charge is approximately 450 km (when calculated using the WLTP cycle).
According to preliminary information, the price of a serial SUV, which will be based on the Volkswagen ID.2 all SUV concept, will be about 23 thousand euros. It is expected that such a new product will enter the European market in 2026, while the hatchback will reach dealers a year earlier.
