MOSCOW, December 17 A criminal case due to the collapse of a roof in an apartment building in Oryol has been opened under the article of negligence, reported the SUSK in Orlovskaya areas.
On Sunday afternoon, a roof collapse occurred in a residential building on Vasilyevskaya Street in Orel; initially, due to the accumulation of ice and snow on it, no one was injured. The prosecutor's office of the Oryol region organized an inspection and made a presentation to the head of the city administration and the head of the management company.
«Investigative authorities… have opened a criminal case into the collapse of the roof of an apartment building No. 146 on Vasilievskaya Street in the city of Orel, on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (negligence),» says the message on Telegram — department channel.

Investigators have previously established that the load-bearing structures of the roof of the house collapsed. According to SUSK, officials of the Oryol city administration and the Znamenka management company knew that the building of the house was recognized as unsafe and unsuitable for living, but did not resettle the residents and did not take emergency measures to strengthen the roof. The case was opened on the basis of materials from the regional prosecutor's office, the press service added.
