NIZHNY NOVGOROD, December 17 A resident of Nizhny Novgorod died, his wife was hospitalized with carbon monoxide poisoning, reports the regional department of the Russian Investigative Committee.
According to investigators, on the afternoon of December 17, the body of a 35-year-old man was found in a house on Zemlyachki Street in the Sormovsky district of the city. When examining the body, investigators from the Investigative Committee did not find any visible bodily injuries. In addition, the wife of the deceased was taken to the hospital with signs of carbon monoxide poisoning, where she is receiving medical care.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence).
«Investigators do not rule out that the cause of death of the victim could have been carbon monoxide poisoning, since the house in which the tragedy occurred is equipped with a gas boiler. In order to establish the cause of death and the serviceability of gas equipment, appropriate forensic examinations have been appointed,» — the message says.
