KRASNODAR, December 18 The court sentenced 6.5 years in prison to two men who, having received an order from a certain Telegram user to burn relay cabinets on the railway tracks of Krasnodar , first decided to rob a friend in order to buy a tire iron and gasoline, the joint press service of the courts of the Krasnodar Territory reported.
It is noted that Alexander Andreev and Petr Voskoboynik in February received a proposal on Telegram from an unidentified person to set fire to two relay cabinets of Russian Railways OJSC, located in the Krasnodar village of Loris. For each damaged object they were promised 10,000 rubles. The young people, having received instructions and geographic coordinates of the objects, went to the Druzhba SNT on the morning of February 3 to rob a man and use the money to buy a pry bar for opening relay cabinets, gasoline and motor oil for arson.
They were detained by officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Krasnodar Territory. A criminal case was opened under Part 1 of Article 30, Part 1 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Preparation to commit arson aimed at damaging transport infrastructure in order to undermine the economic security and defense capability of the Russian Federation), the press service added.
“”The Krasnodar Regional Court announced the verdict… Voskoboynik was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 7 years 2 months, Andreev – 6 years 6 months. They will have to serve the first 2 years of the sentence in prison, and the rest – in a correctional facility maximum security colony,” the statement said.
The verdict has not entered into legal force.
