It is expected that the refreshed five-door will be presented next year, and will go on sale on the European market in 2025.
The first Peugeot 308 rolled off the assembly line in 2007, the second generation appeared in 2013, and the current third generation model debuted in 2021: a hatchback was introduced in the spring, and a station wagon in the summer. According to Jato Dynamics, the current “three hundred and eighth” sold 79,973 copies throughout Europe in the first ten months of this year, which is 7% more than in January-October 2022. However, the Peugeot 308 lags noticeably behind its main competitor, the Volkswagen Golf (during the same period, Golf sales amounted to 150,020 units). Now the French are preparing the model for the first update.

So far, photo spies have not come across camouflaged prototypes of the refreshed “308,” but it is known that the manufacturer is working on this new product. The five-door is expected to debut next year and go on sale on the European market in 2025.
There is no information yet about what the updated Peugeot 308 will look like. The designer of the Spanish publication Motor.es presented his version of the potential appearance of the hatchback. Judging by the render, the main changes await the front part of the model: the artist suggested that the model will again have three LED fangs on each side, as well as three similar elements in the modified main headlight blocks.
The designer also equipped the updated “three hundred and eighth” radiator grille in the style of the new Peugeot 3008 (in September of this year it debuted as an electric car, but in the future the model will also have versions with an internal combustion engine). The profile of the car in the rendering remains the same: traditional exterior mirrors with black housings and “regular” door handles. Presumably the stern will only be updated with different graphics for the rear lights.

It is expected that the Peugeot 308's interior will remain virtually untouched during the update, although it is possible that the Panoramic i-Cockpit front panel, available on the 3008, will be available as an option. Let us remind you that in the current 308 in expensive versions, the instrument panel is completely virtual, its diagonal is 10 inches; it also has a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

According to the publication, the update will affect the 308 engine line. It is expected that the three-cylinder 1.2-liter PureTech engine will work as part of a mild-hybrid power plant with a 48-volt “electric weight” integrated into a six-speed dual-clutch automatic e-DCS6. It is also expected that the power of rechargeable hybrids will increase to 195 and 230 hp. At the same time, both PHEV versions will receive a new battery with a capacity of 21 kWh. As a result, their range when driving only on electric power will be 100 km.
Recall that the current “308” also has fully electric versions of the hatchback and station wagon – the Peugeot E-308. They debuted last September. “Green” five-door cars are equipped with a single electric motor with a power of 156 hp. (maximum torque – 260 Nm), they can travel 400 km on one charge.
