Roscosmos confirmed the detention of the deputy general director for state defense procurement

Details regarding the charges and investigative measures in the criminal case are under the jurisdiction of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

Fraud on an especially large scale

The Investigative Committee previously reported in the Telegram channel that Deputy General Director of Roscosmos Oleg Frolov was accused of fraud on an especially large scale. An individual entrepreneur and a representative of a commercial organization are also involved in the case; their names are not disclosed.

According to the investigation, Frolov, using his official position, conspired with two accomplices to steal budget funds during the purchase of equipment in the amount at least 435 million rubles.

On Friday, the court, at the request of the investigation, sent the defendants in the case into custody.

Five years of work at Roscosmos «

Oleg Frolov was appointed deputy head of Roscosmos in June 2018. He was responsible for the implementation of the state weapons program.
From 2012 to 2013, Frolov worked as first deputy head of the Federal Space Agency. In 2015, Frolov joined the board of the Military-Industrial Commission.
