The four-door had a refreshed exterior design and a completely redesigned interior. On the domestic market, the model, as before, is available with a 2.5 petrol turbo-four and a 3.5 biturbo V6.
The first official photographs of the restyled five-meter Genesis G80 sedan were distributed in mid-December. And now in the premium brand’s native Korea (the Genesis brand is owned by Hyundai), specifications and prices have been announced, and local dealers have opened orders. Let us remind you that the G80, built on a rear-wheel drive platform, has been in its current generation since 2020.

There are no radical changes in the appearance of the sedan: the radiator grille features a double mesh, like the updated Genesis GV80 crossover, the bumpers have also been refreshed, plus the exhaust pipes are now hidden. The Genesis G80 retains the family's two-way optics, while the headlights and running gear are made using MLA (Micro Lens Array) matrix technology. The model also gets new 20-inch wheels inspired by airplane propellers (the four-door also has 18- and 19-inch wheels). Finally, the palette of body colors has been expanded.

Along with the standard sedan, the “warmed up” Genesis G80 Sport (also seen in the title image) has also been updated; its features include a more aggressive body kit, original grille and wheels. By the way, the “sport” exhaust pipes are still on display.

The interior, on the contrary, has been completely redesigned. Inside there is a new front panel, steering wheel, climate control unit, gear shift washers and controller. The main feature is a single 27-inch display instead of a separate virtual instrument panel and multimedia system screen. In addition, Genesis reported improved sound insulation and the use of even higher quality finishing materials (for example, aluminum and natural wood are used). Inside the G80 Sport there is a truncated steering wheel and carbon fiber trim.

The list of equipment for the restyled Genesis G80 also includes a fingerprint authentication system and a heated armrest box with ultraviolet ray disinfection function, and separate large entertainment system tablets can be ordered for rear passengers. Of course, the model also has many electronic assistants and security systems.

The engine range in Korea is the same. The sedan lost its diesel engine there long ago, and it has not returned: in the home market the G80 is available with a 2.5 T-GDI petrol turbo-four (304 hp) and a 3.5 biturbo V6 (380 hp), both engines are combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission back or full. However, Genesis said that the suspension has been upgraded, resulting in “improved overall comfort.” And the top-end G80 Sport has a fully controlled chassis with rear wheel steering and an e-LSD differential.

The standard updated Genesis G80 sedan costs from 58,900,000 won, which is equivalent to approximately 4,157,000 rubles at the current exchange rate. The G80 Sport will cost at least 62,900,000 won (about 4,440,000 rubles). The restyled four-door will reach other countries next year, and the electric version will probably be updated in 2024.
